A Simple Recipe On How To Make Eggs Over Easy

By Alex Sheen

Eggs over easy is a quick, simple dish enjoyed the world over. The short preparation time is a major reason these eggs are so popular. Breakfast is the traditional time of day that this type of eggs is enjoyed, but they can also be a great lunchtime choice. Combined with sausage, bacon or bread, a filling lunch takes mere minutes. Each person may have a preferred method in preparing the perfect egg, but there is a basic similarity that does not change.

The traditional preparation method requires you to start with a clean frying pan and a bit of oil. Canola oil is likely the best oil for this purpose given the fact that it does not have an extremely oily taste. Place the oil in the pan and make sure to cover the entire pan with the oil before starting.

Eggs over easy will generally need some medium low range of fire in order not to burn. The next step would be to crack some eggs into a bowl and to ensure that the yolks of the eggs are not broken up. After cracking the eggs into the bowl, they may then be added to the frying pan.

The meal cook should remember not to add the bowl content to the frying pan all at once to avoid breaking the yolks of the eggs in the bowl. The cook may add the content of the bowl a little at a time until all of the content are in the frying pan. The cook will then need to wait for about two minutes for the eggs to fry.

The hotter the pan is, the quicker the egg will begin to solidify. Personal preference will dictate how firm the egg white and egg yolk should be. At the very least, the egg needs to be firm enough to withstand the turning over stage without falling to pieces.

Flipping the egg is going to be the real challenge in this entire effort given that this part of the process is when people are most likely to break the yolk. It is best to do this by getting a large-sized spatula and using this to flip the egg. This should be done carefully and slowly or else the yolk will no longer be full.

The final step in this process is to flip it over once more so that the opposite side can cook. The fire should be lowered at this stage because the second side is already partially cooked and could become burned otherwise. So, after having completed the final flip, it is possible to leave the egg for a bit and then turn the burner off entirely.

These are the basic steps on how to make eggs over easy, they should generally not take more than fifteen minutes of most people time. The meal can be served with some coffee or orange juice and some bread too as a simple breakfast meal.
